While you will probably have the opportunity to expand on a few of your projects, the ability to curb yourself and answer questions in a short time frame is extremely important. Take the time to plan what you are going to say for each of your projects in a short and long version. When writing the short version, make sure you draw attention to each project’s actions, solutions, outcomes, and your impact on the company.
Use the STAR methodology to help you.
- Situation: Set the scene and explain the necessary details of your example.
- Task: Describe your responsibilities.
- Action: Explain what you did to ensure success.
- Result: Share the outcomes that were achieved.
