A review of TechPoint Sales Bootcamp

What does TechPoint Sales Bootcamp do?

TechPoint Sales Bootcamp is a 4-week nonprofit sales bootcamp that helps people launch a new career in tech sales. While classes usually meet live in Indianapolis, enrollment is currently on hold due to Covid-19 restrictions. The program boasts a 93% job placement rate with short internship opportunities included in the course.

Students in the flagship 4-week program participate in 3 separate 1-week internships with 3 different tech companies. While students attend lectures and complete exercises, most of the program consists of sales assignments for real companies that students can add to their resumes.

The course begins with an orientation as students get to know each other. Students then take part in an intensive 2-day Sandler sales methodology training led by Matt Nettleton in which they learn the fundamentals of selling by working with different types of leads, utilizing sales funnels, and closing deals. The course then shifts into 3 separate internships as students make demo calls, review prospect lists, and observe sales cycles for real sales companies. On Fridays, Matt Nettleton leads a debrief session for Q&A and support. 

Next, students participate in a career day where they attend workshops, prep for sales interviews, and craft job search strategies. The course culminates in an interview day where students meet with real tech companies in TechPoint’s network.

Who is TechPoint Sales Bootcamp for?

New grads or career changers who want to land a job in tech sales could benefit from TechPoint Sales Bootcamp. The program is especially helpful for people seeking short but intensive in-person training with hands-on learning. People looking for real internship opportunities to beef up their resumes may also be a good fit. 

What does TechPoint Sales Bootcamp cost? How much work is involved?

As a nonprofit program, their bootcamp is usually completely free. The admissions process begins with a brief online interest form. When a cohort date is announced, candidates fill out an online application and complete a final sales assessment. No prior sales experience is required for the assessment or the course.

How does TechPoint Sales Bootcamp compare to Pathrise?

TechPoint Sales Bootcamp is a nonprofit program that helps people start their careers in sales. While some students enter the course with sales experience, most are recent grads or career changers with no formal sales experience. Pathrise fellows should already have some background in their chosen field to get the most of our technical curriculum.
